the historic edsa revolt has placed the philippines as a nation in the map as the asian country that changed a nation through a peaceful revolution. that historic event identifies us as a nation ready to act as one against abuses, against the freedom of men.
this event happened 23 years ago. and it seemed that this episode can easily be replaced and is seemed to be less important than a job fair where the Phil. president attended to. true as it may be that the problem on unemployment is a crucial concern that needs to be responded to but considering this fair rather than attending this celebration once a year is not fair. the very roots of this nation is founded on a continious struggle for freedom. that is edsa people power.
23 years may have passed but the spirit that enveloped the nation 23 years ago is significant especially in times where the same institution (govenrment) seemed to be the same source of depression among those seeking for freedom and equality. this is much significant.
for we would not be in the same ground where we are standing right now if it were not for this monumental event.

ub student leaders attends paasa
five members of the ssc and 6 others from various sangguniang barangays will be attending the interactive youth forum entitled "heroic citizenship: a call for youth heroes" on February 27-28, 2009 at the university of the east, c.m. recto, manila.
gerald duagan, romnick del rosario, wendy victoria, bethany magno and rricky sison were sent by the ssc. girlie fe deliso, adrian fernandez, mariecris tilos, george estabillo to name a few were sent by their respective sangguniang barangays.
this is the first time that the administration supported this number of delegates to be sent outside baguio.

we have attended the pacsa convention last year and as observed, the convention was more focused on the election of pacsa officers rather than responding to the objective of building unity and responsible leadership among student leaders. we were not even socialized to other schools. if there were, it did not last.
anyway, i hope paasa would really be a young leaders forum and not a mere assembly of students.
at the end of the forum we should be able to:
1. assess the current leadership situation in the country.
2. formulate a leadership profile that may be used as a guide for choosing future leaders in the country.
3. establish an effective network that will promote heroic leadership and citizenship
conviction in action! let these objectives be attained.
